Beginner's Workshops in Mandala Painting
|
This is an excellent opportunity to explore a unique artistic process in a beautiful setting. No experience in drawing or painting is required.
During the six sessions participants will:
- make a canvas by hand
- grind semi-precious stones to prepare pigments using traditional techniques
- learn about colours and elements of a mandala and their symbolic meaning
- paint a personal mandala using organic materials and pigments

- how to make a canvas
- how to prepare pigments using traditional techniques
- how to draw a Buddha using the technique of basic proportions
- how to create and paint a thangka of their own
- the history of Tibetan art
- sacred rituals and symbolism in thangka painting

| No experience is required, all are welcome. |
| Intensive workshops are normally scheduled over for 5 consecutive days. |
